“The first Broadway musical I ever saw with my dad was Beauty and the Beast (with Susan Egan as Belle). Beauty and the Beast is also one of the first movies I clearly remember seeing with my dad in theatres when it came out. At the exact moment my dad died, Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson’s version of “Beauty and the Beast” was playing on the hospital radio. While BatB is my favourite movie of all time, I can’t look or listen to the film the same way.”
“I absolutely adore Belle and Beast’s relationship because of how they fell in love with each other. It wasn’t due to the looks of either of them, they fell in love because of who they are inside. Being pansexual, their relationship is exactly the one I want to have with someone. I also identify with Belle, which gives me hope that someone will like me despite my odd quirks.”
“I love Beauty and the Beast. However, I kind of hate how Disney would keep editing the colors and animation on all of its re-releases after the original VHS. They always look too bright and unattractive. I hope Disney some day releases BatB on DVD in its original format.”
